English Folk
Most of the English folk music consists of personal experiences of immigrants, the working class and more. In the 1800's, which is when the English folk music was mostly famous, the brass instruments were introduced in English music. English folk music usually consisted of song and dancing, which is very similar to the other types of folk music. The English music has also gone through what is known as "revivals", which means it was popular, and then died down, but it was revived and became popular again. During the 1930's, after people migrated to the U.S., English music was infiltrated with American jazz music. It was combined together and it created a new type of sound. They also wrote and sang songs in order to express their happiness, and to express their dances. The songs are sometimes called "ballads" because the songs involve music, but they also tell vivid and detailed stories.

One of the uncommon instruments that is used is called a "mandolin", and it looks a lot like a small guitar/violin mix. Personally, it sounds more like a banjo and guitar mixed when it is actually played.
Here are a few pictures of the Mandolin:

In Braintree, there is a church called "Saint Thomas More Parish", and because of the name of the church, it suggests that there is English background. Thomas More was an english martyr, and it is a suggestion that the English came to Braintree and named a church after him. There is a connection with Braintree and England because of John Adams. He was born in Braintree, but he went over to Great Britain after the war in order to gain trust from them in 1883. John Adams was the second president of the United States, meaning he helped with Great Britain and the treaties that they did together.
